RDX Wiring Harness Loom. For 90/110/127 Defender 1983 to 1990. 2.5 Naturally aspirated(asthmatic) Diesel or Turbo Diesel(Dismal) Ninety, OneTen & 127 did not come with a glow plug relay, YOU had to hold the key in’heat’ position which is just before turning key to start position. This kit is ideal if you have fitted a 200Tdi or 300Tdi into an older model, many say you do not heater plugs but Land Rover fitted Glow plugs for a very good reason these engines need heat when it is very cold. This kit will put glow plugs on for approx 3 seconds when ignition is used and longer if it is colder. This kit uses the same relay used on 200Tdi & 300Tdi engines. This kit does not require you to remove the instrument panel every connection can be done in the engine bay for easy install. There is no glow plug light on 1983 to 1990 models so we have reused the choke light as every model has the wiring (Yellow/White wire) in the engine bay! The relay take an ignition feed from brake switch behind the brake servo. Main power feed from the starter motor. Earth from the bulkhead. Very early Ninety, OneTen, 127 (1983 to 1986) fitted with a 2 1/4 diesel engines have 6 volt glow plugs a carry over from Series 3 days, these models have a coil of wire guarded by a metal bracket mounted directly behind the engine on the bulkhead. This will need to be removed if a 200Tdi or 30Tdi engine is fitted otherwise you only getting 6 volts for your 12 volt glow plugs! The yellow/white wire is on one of the main connection plugs in the engine bay, apply an earth feed to this wire and you will see the choke light illuminate on the instrument panel.
